Well, she certainly understands the art of doublespeak. There's no question about the reality vs. what she says. The only question is whether she's convinced anybody who was undecided before she spoke. I doubt it. But power has a way of creating it's own reality, despite the real results. The true test of democracy is the ability of truth to trump the machinations of power. That is the test of 2010 for the Philippines.

Another true test of democracy is the quality of the next Malacanang resident that the Filipino population will select in the May 2010 elections.

Wait... the democracy test is in the peaceful transition of power (unlike when GMA-and-cabal surged the gates against Erap). I do not know the category that covers Filipinos electing a quality Malacanang resident.
