Former Bush Secretary of State COLIN POWELL has just announced that he will be voting for SENATOR BARACK OBAMA in the US Presidential election. In his remarks, he strongly rejects the disturbing track taken by the McCain campaign in the last few weeks.
A lot of people have been waiting for this shoe to drop. Now that it has, McCain-Palin ticket is kaput for sure. (Obviously, not only because of this.) I'm gratified to hear from Sec. Powell that one of his big reasons for chosing not to vote the GOP this year, is pretty much the same as mind: Barack's temperament and uhmm Palin's.
Here's a thoughtful analysis from TheNextRight by someone not exactly rooting for Barack Obama, but who sees what big trouble the GOP is in.

Quite a very big blow to McCain. It could be the last straw.
Poor McCain. His gamble on Palin was a big mistake. He gained a segment but lost more in the end. He should have gotten other Republican females instead of Palin.
I was ready to vote for McCain, until he picked Palin. Texas Gov Kay Bailey would've been a winning choice for me.
Anonymous,
You mean like Michelle Bachmann?
to hillblogger,
hahahahahaha!!!!
The elections is next month or a still a few weeks from now. We shall see how things turn out.
It would really be an insult to the Democrats if Obama loses considering that virtually all in the media is negative on the Republican candidates.
Some women are intimidated by Palin. She is a bit too aggressive for them, yes even for those in the Womens rights movement. I think it is "ipokrita." To advance, women should embrace her and at the same time separate politics from opportunity won.
Question: Why is Obama afraid of his middle name, Hussein?
Oh by the way, Colin Powell is sour graping. I think he caved in at the UN on the IRAQ WMD. He's mad about that and now takes it on McCain.
