THE END OF EMPIRE,
an essay written around 1950 by the Cambridge historian and Irishman Denis W. Brogan, is one of the most remarkable antidotes I have found to the viral ideas of Renato Constantino on the very same subject. I read the essay for Philippine commentary listeners.
