Sheila Coronel Goes To America

CONGRATULATIONS are definitely in order for SHEILA CORONEL, founder in 1989 of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), and now newly appointed Director of the Columbia University School of Journalism's Center for Investigative Journalism in New York City. (That's the Big Apple, Virginia!)

I know, I know, it's a lil bit like getting used to the idea that Maria Sharapova is an American tennis player... but what can we say, the cream rises to the top.

And as someone from Columbia said on television, the screening committee just fell in love with Sheila, "with her energy and her passion for Journalism."

Like most Filipinos who go to America, I'm very sure Sheila will WOW them, coz they ain't seen nothin' yet!

Say hello to Broadway for me...and Lady Liberty!
