The Great Debate
Sam Harris, Steven Pinker, Patricia Churchland, Lawrence Krauss, Peter Singer, Roger Bingham tackle the Big Question: Can Science replace Religion on the matter of Morality?
Nice panel discussion. As always, Krauss and Harris stand out. Blackburn's and Singer's negative stance seemed wobbly when juxtaposed with Lawrence's penetrating clarity on the values and utility of scientific method.

you cannot derive an ought from an is.
ultimately, value formation is indeterminate from facts as people perceive them. the goal is to come up with common values.
