The Cardinal's remarks supports the reasons why the Latin Church should reexamine the law obligating priests to be celibate.<br /><br />I find it rather discomforting that the Latin Church has to declare that supporting children supersedes the obligations of priesthood.<br /><br />A majority of Protestant, Eastern Catholic, Orthodox clergy are married, have kids to support and still are religious ministers and yet are able to be good pastors.<br /><br />Celibacy is a discipline in the Latin Church and does not hold true for all the Catholic Church. A future Pope can easily abrogate this discipline. <br /><br />And BTW, I support the proposal to make abuse of children (not just sexual) a crime against humanity since any entity (religious like Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Protestant Church, Islam and also Atheism and Secularism or non-religious such as the State) can do this and in the past they have done so.Ben Vallejohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02963290696331676531noreply@blogger.com
