The dictator used all the powers of the state to further his hold on power. A significant number of Filipinos have become wary of the state using it's legitimate powers in suppressing the rights of it's people. Coupled with the general distrust of the current President and the Philippines is lucky that even a watered down version of the Anti-terrorists law was passed.Roy C.
